About the Grand
The Grand Hotel existed over 100 years ago and was a main stopping point on thestagecoach route between Montreal and Toronto. It was noted for its cleanliness and good food, as referenced in the book “The History of Martintown” by Rhodes Grant. Over the years many owners and business name changes, including Shenanigans and most recently and perhaps the best known name, Johnny Macs.
In November 2013 the business was purchased by Marilyn Blackwood a Martintown resident for over 20 years. Wanting to put a new spin on an old business while recognizing the strong historical presence in the area the business was rebranded with its original name The Grand Hotel (Martintown) Inc. Many months of renovations and the official opening April 2014 saw the beginning of the Grand’s new journey.
The new Grand Hotel offers a full service restaurant, a bar and an entertainment venue. Our capacity allows for 140 inside and 95 outside on the patio. The hotel holds a full service liquor license and a catering license that allows bar service to be offered at offsite events
The goal of the Grand Hotel is be the premier venue for food, beverage, entertainment and event services in the region. We will do this by providing a warm, inviting, exceptionally clean environment, a variety of high quality food and drink choices, delivered with exemplary service, and frequently providing a variety of entertainment that enhances life enjoyment, if only for a short time.
We define ourselves as a Country Chic Restaurant. We invite you to come for a visit, check out the many renovations including our beautiful new patio and garden, spend some time with us, meet our staff and let us show you what warm hospitality and good food are all about.
